Hola, Hi, I’m Alondra Martinez.
I’m a Mexicana Product Designer based in Sacramento, CA who comes from a background in IT help desk support.
My Story
Before my journey into the UI/UX world, I earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science that led me into the stage of my career of working in help desk support. It was through this role that I was able to hone in on my passion for helping others and actively develop my problem solving skills.
Through my troubleshooting and day-to-day technical issues, I learned the art of effectively adapting to unexpected problems and solving them. One of the many skills I developed was the ability to communicate solutions efficiently to a wide range of non-technical and technical users. I found great satisfaction and joy knowing I made a positive impact in someone’s life through my problem-solving skills.
While I enjoyed navigating the world of IT, I found myself looking for opportunities to embrace my creative side. I learned how transferable my current skills in tech support of listening to users and strategizing solutions to problems applies just as much to building out a web design experience. That’s when I made the decision to lock into the world of UI/UX. I realized I could combine my passion for empathetic support and appreciation for visually aesthetically and user-friendly intuitive designing.
Outside of Work
In my downtime aside from designing I do enjoy expressing myself creatively and that usually involves a nice paint session while sipping on some quality ceremonial grade matcha and good music or just a nice video game session with some friends chilling with my two black cats.
Wait! I know what your thinking.. black cats ? that’s right the best kind of cat out there to adopt!
